Arvon Foundation Word Art Competition

Art Contest Info:

To enter this word art contest you have to combine visual imagery with some creative writing. Some example art given to help you understand this concept such as: a poem in fridge magnets, a collage of words from a newspaper, a Photoshop blend of text and image, a photograph of words in the sand. Submit your completed word art to the email address on the art contest page.

Prize:

The winner will receive gift vouchers to the value of £655 to be used for an Arvon course (these courses are at Avron centres across the UK)

Rules:

Contest is open internationally but due to prize might only be of interest the UK residents or those planning on visiting the UK. You can submit a maximum of five images.

We Are Serenades - Tour Poster Design Contest

Art Contest Info:

We Are Serenades have their debut album out of 17th April called "Criminal Heaven" and are due to go on a summer tour where they will showcasing their new songs. For this summer tour they require a tour poster and are running this art contest over at Creative Allie where they are looking for a poster which complement the dreamy, ethereal album art. Avoid literal, stereotypical interpretations of serenades, criminals and heaven and include the required text "We Are Serenades" and "Criminal Heaven." in your poster design. Your completed poster design should be submitted to Creative Allies in a 16" x 20" size with a minimum resolution of 200 dpi in .JPG, .JPEG, .TIF, .TIFF, .EPS formats.

Prize:

The winner as chosen by by We Are Serenades will receive $500, and the We Are Serenades new album. There are also prizes of $100 credit for the Creative Allie's store for the editor's favorite and fan favorite plus the chance to earn royalties from your art designs.

Rules:

Do not submit copyrighted work. There is no maximum number of entries per design contest or per entrant. Do not use stock images or clip art.

2012 Chicago International Poster Biennial Design Contest

Art Contest Info:

This contest is open to students from anywhere in the world. Design a poster within the theme for the 2012 CIPB Student Poster Competition which is the music of Chicago. It doesn't matter what kind of music you enjoy but design something that draws upon the rich history of music in Chicago. Your final poster should be submitted as a 18" x 24" (45.72 cm x 60.96 cm) in vertical orientation at 300 dpi, CMYK in a high res JPEG file format.

Prize:

The best student poster of 2012 will be awarded a medal and certificate. The poster will be printed and used as the official poster for the 2012 Chicago Jazz Festival by the City of Chicago and also displayed in the Chicago Cultural Center during this year’s Chicago Jazz Festival.

Rules:

Entrants must be a current student of graphic design or a related art discipline. One entry per student. Each entry becomes the property of CIPBA, and the poster, or its image, may be used to promote the CIPBA through publications or advertising. Student designers retain the creative and production rights for their own work.

Infected Mushroom Poster Design Contest

Art Contest Info:

The multi-dimensional psychedelic trance act Infected Musroom is looking for designed to submit a poster design inspired by their musical style. The winning design will be produced as the official limited edition lithograph poster for Infected Mushroom’s 2012 tour. You can download the design contests assets from here which include the Infected Mushroom logo which must be used in your poster design. There is also a "Nation of Wusses" image to use as inspiration. Your poster design should be submitted through the Talenthouse website in JPEG or PNG format.

Prize:

The grand prize winner as selected by Infected Mushroom will have their design produced as a limited edition lithograph poster for Infected Mushroom’s 2012 tour, which will be sold on the Infected Mushroom and Dim Mak online stores. The winner will also receive 3 signed copies of their lithograph design, a signed picture of Infected Mushroom, 2 VIP tickets plus a meet and greet at an Infected Mushroom concert nearest to the winner’s location and $250. The runner up and highest voted entry receives their poster design featured on Infected Mushroom’s Facebook page, a Dim Mak merchandise package and an Infected Mushroom merchandise package.

Much + Sharpie Remix An Everyday Object Contest

Art Contest Info:

Take an everyday object such as a T-shirt, guitar, sneakers etc and use a Sharpie or multiple Sharpies to decorate and remix the object. Add colour and design to an everyday object then upload your entry as a photo or a YouTube video to the site.

Prize:

One grand prize winner will receive a trip for two to see the winner's favourite band in concert. Include a round trip economy air fare from a major Canadian aiport, 7 nights accomodation, two tickets to the concert and $2,000 CDN in spending money. There are also 8 secondary prizes of a 16GB iPad and pair of Beats by Dre Headphones.

Neo:artprize Open Art Exhibition

Art Contest Info:

neo:artprize is an open exhibition aiming to bring to Bolton the best contemporary art from across the UK. To enter your new or recent work artwork from any media you need to submit digital images of your artwork as JPEG files which are no larger than 5 MB in size and a minimum of 1000 pixels and maximum of 2000 pixels wide.

Prize:

The winner of the neo:artprize wins £1000, the winner of the GreatArt prize wins £500 vouchers and the winner of the Ken Bromley prize wins £200 vouchers. There are also additional prizes to be listed soon.

Rules:

There is an entry fee charge of £10 for 1 image or £15 for 2 images. Must live or be professionally based in the United Kingdom. Artist must hold all moral and intellectual property rights in the artwork. If artist gets accepted to stage 2 they accept responsibility for the transportation of the artworks. Work sold from the exhibition is subject to a 20% commission charge.
